"Big-ticket items: we got into the house we wanted, we sold our house at an even better price than expected, and both of these things happened on time with minimal drama. This is how it should work under the best of circumstances, but it does not always play out that way. Mike had major impact on making these things happen. Namely: -He let us take our time with house-hunting, even encouraged it. Honestly, had it been any other way, we would not have moved forward with him as our agent. -His assessment of our house, its value, and our likelihood of being able to sell quickly was spot on. Other 'little things' that mattered: -Prompt with communication. Phone calls and texts were responded to immediately. -Well-organized. There is a lot to keep track of. I had no worries about Mike being able to keep track of things. -Mike's marketing and handling of the open house was outstanding. -Correct evaluation of offers. I think actually cash isn't ALWAYS king, but in our circumstances, we needed to take the offer least likely to fall through, and Mike helped us correctly evaluate the strength of the offers. -Mike had some contacts that he was able to reach by phone quickly to give us thoughts on a few items rapidly. Possible areas to improve: -Get a paper trail for key items, rather than relying on phone calls and texts. This is minor, and it was only a small ticket item that caused confusion and minor drama. -On the purchase side: it would have been nice to have felt like we were in the driver's seat a bit more. We could possibly have negotiated a little bit harder at that time.
